According to a media release by the RCMP, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Saturday night April 2nd Swan River RCMP & Swan River Emergency Personnel (fire and ambulance) were dispatched to a snowmobile collision approximately 1 km north of Swan River on a provincially designated snowmobile trail.
The snowmobile operator was traveling southbound on the trail when he lost control and struck trees. He was transported by ambulance to the Swan Valley Health Centre and then later transferred to the BoundaryTrails Health Centre where he is listed in good condition.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation and alcohol and excessive speed have not been ruled out as contributing factors in the collision.
