Swan River RCMP – Drug Charges Laid

On June 7, 2013 Swan River RCMP laid 2 charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.


Charged are Travis John BELL (23 years) of Swan River (5 charges, re: Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cannabis Marihuana), Proceeds of Crime, Breach of Recognizance x 2 & Breach of Probation) and a male youth (17 years) of Birch River (2 charges, re: Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cannabis Marihuana), & Breach Probation).

The charges are the result of a police investigation leading to the subsequent execution of a Search Warrant in Swan River, Manitoba on June 7, 2013. Search of residence was conducted. Located and seized were 29 grams of cannabis marihuana, an assortment of prescription pills, numerous drug paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Travis John BELL was remanded into custody to appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on June 10, 2013.

The male youth was remanded into custody and was subsequently released on a Recognizance taken before a Justice, and is scheduled to appear in Swan River Provincial Court for June 19, 2013.
