Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain held Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 at the Rural Municipality of Mountain Council Chambers in Birch River, MB.


Members Present:

CAO Paige Driscoll was present and acted as secretary.

1. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Reeve Keith Behrmann, quorum being present.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby approve the donation in the amount of $95.00 towards the Birch River Fire Fighters Association for expenses related to the Wildfire Preparedness Day;
AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby authorize the annual donation to the Birch River Fire Fighters Association from the LUD of Birch River in the amount of $500.00.

$5000.00 towards the Birch River Swimming Pool.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby accept and approve the Draft Audited Financial Statement for the Year Ended December 31st, 2023 as prepared by Sensus Partership of Chartered Accountants;
AND THAT the Reeve and Finance Chair be authorized to sign on behalf of the Municipality.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby approve the Application for Licence to Construct Water Control Works for the Project Named: Ward Two Ditch Cleanout Project;
AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approve the Intermountain Watershed District to complete the required surveys for the drainage applications;
AND THAT following the completion of required surveys, the CAO be authorized to submit such an application through the Water Licencing Portal.

WHEREAS a representative of Wuskwi Sipihk First Nations requested the Birch River Fire Department to attend a fire on Wuskwi Sipihk First Nations land to extinguish a house fire;
AND WHEREAS the Rural Municipality of Mountain attended such without the presence of an agreement;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby issue an invoice to Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation in the amount of Costs for equipment as per the current Fire Department Rates Policy.
