On July 8, 2024, Swan River RCMP received a report of a sudden death in Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, Manitoba. Officers attended the residence and located a 54-year-old female deceased inside her home.
An autopsy was conducted and it has been determined that the female died as the result of an injury sustained in the days prior to her death. Her death is now being investigated as a homicide.
RCMP Major Crime Services has taken carriage of the investigation.
