Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain held Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 at the Rural Municipality of Mountain Council Chambers in Birch River, MB.


Members Present:

Councillor Pedersen was absent with notice.
CAO Paige Wozny was present and acted as secretary.

1. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Reeve Keith Behrmann, quorum being present.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby apply for a grant in the amount of $10,000.00 through the Province of Manitoba From the Ground Up Program for playground equipment in Pine River;
AND THAT the municipal portion, if approved, but taken from general operating funds;
AND THAT the CAO be authorized to sign on behalf of the Municipality.

10.1 Harapiak Bridge: Alternative Route

WHEREAS the Municipality is exploring alternative routes to provide a continuance of access for the residents and landowners that may be adversley affected should there be repairs needed for the bridge locally named the Harapiak Bridge;
WHEREAS this alternative route is dependant on the sale of portions of Crown Land;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby submit a request to Manitoba Real Estate Services Division for the purchase of 99 feet of the NE and Pt NW 25-35-23W for road development;
AND THAT the CAO be authorized to sign on behalf of the Municipality.
