Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain held Wednesday, September 13th, 2023 at the Rural Municipality of Mountain Council Chambers in Birch River, MB.

WHEREAS extraordinary invoices were paid to complete repairs to the Mafeking Water Treatment Plant including pumps and truck fill operation;
AND WHEREAS these items were not budgeted for through the utility rates and is likely to cause the utility to fall into a deficit for the 2023 year;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby request the Public Utilties Board to transfer $11,639.73 from the Mafeking Utility Reserve Fund to cover these expenses.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby approve the purchase of a 1,000 gallon propane tank and belly heater from Co-op Propane in the amount of $7,490.00 plus GST;
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approve the additional quote in the amount of $1,679.90 plus GST for additional electrical work;
AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approve the shipment of such propane tank through 83 North in the amount of $700.00;
AND THAT the CAO be authorized to sign on behalf of the Municipality.

10.6 2023 Land Sale Auction

WHEREAS on April 26th, 2023 Council passed resolution number 2023/124 cancelling the sale of two particular parcels included with the 2023 Land Auction (Roll Numbers 278120.000 & 278100.000);
AND WHEREAS legal action has been pursued by the purchaser in order to complete the land sale transaction as advertised;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council of the Rural Municipality of Mountain hereby complete the subdivision of the NE 17-36-23W and enter into a sale agreement with the purchaser of Parcel # 4 (Roll # 278100.000);
AND THAT the Reeve and CAO be authorized to sign on behalf of the Municipality.
