Swan River RCMP Respond to Shooting

On March 27, 2022, at approximately 3:00 am, Swan River RCMP received a report that a male had been shot at a residence in Benito, Manitoba.

Four individuals – two males and two females – were at a residence in Benito when the door was kicked in and three individuals – two males and one female – entered with firearms. They demanded money and jewelry. The four individuals were tied up while the house was ransacked. One of the males, 26, was shot and the other three individuals assaulted before the three suspects left.

The male was rushed to the hospital and police were called. The male remains in hospital in stable condition.

Numerous belongings were stolen from the residence, along with a vehicle.

This was not a random act. Some of the individuals were known to each other.

The investigation continues.
