News Release |

Swan Valley Co-op is continuing to invest in our community by donating $250,000 to the Thunderhill Ski Club recreational development.

The Swan Valley Co-op will be the naming rights sponsor for the new Co-op Chalet at Thunderhill.

A donation of $25,000 will be made annually for the next 10 years in support of the capital and operating requirements of the project. The development will provide increased access to the community for inclusive year round recreational and educational experiences.

“We believe this is a natural partnership that reflects shared values and aspirations for our community development. The timing of this partnership is perfect as more people than ever are looking for outdoor activities and Thunderhill is one of the greatest recreational venues we have in our valley for people of all ages to use.” said Thunderhill Ski Club Board Member, Rob Terhorst.

“Being locally owned by our members and having the ability to give back to our communities are things we’re proud of. The aim of this project is to bring people together, creating a fun, safe and educational recreation area by building a lasting legacy that benefits our community for years to come,” said Colin Peters, General Manager of Swan Valley Co-op.

“We are proud to partner with the Thunderhill Ski Club to bring this project to reality. Together we are improving the places where we meet, play, learn and share. We look forward to construction of the Chalet to begin.”
