Anti-Mask Rally
April 15, 2021

The health and safety of our employees, members and our communities is a priority at Swan Valley Co-op. We have consistently maintained and followed the health regulations mandated by provincial governments and health authorities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are disappointed that a group of protesters chose to hold an anti-mask protest at Swan Valley Co-op’s Food store in Swan River today. There are safe ways to protest and express objections to government policies, but today’s actions were not safe. The actions of this group have gone against the mandates of our governments and health authorities, and have compromised the safety of our employees, customers and community members.

The perspectives of this group of protestors on the health and safety requirements are its own and do not reflect the perspective of our Co-op.
Swan Valley Co-op supports all health regulations that have been mandated by provincial governments and health authorities.

We believe the provincial regulations in place are an important part of protecting our communities against further spread of the COVID-19 virus. We recognize that the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have been difficult on many individuals and businesses, but we must all work together and stay vigilant to help reduce the spread and protect our communities.
