New COVID-19 Restrictions for Swan Valley

Since the announcement, there has been some confusion and debate as to whether or not the mandatory use of masks within the Prairie Mountain Health Region applies to private businesses, retail stores, churches and restaurants.

During a COVID-19 update on August 23, 2020 Dr. Brent Roussin, Chief Provincial Public Health Officer, provided the following clarification regarding the locations where masks would be required:

“Anything that is really accessible to the public. For restaurants there, of course, are provisions where, if you are seated and following the normal physical distancing, then you are not going to have a mask on while you are eating.” said Dr. Roussin. “But, yes, it will include retail outlets.” he added.
