One hundred people gathered at Temple Baptist on the evening of Saturday October 5, 2019 to enjoy the wonderful vocal talent of Jayme Giesbrecht from Winkler, MB. She was joined by band members Jonathan Alexiuk on keyboard and Jim Johnson on the drums, whose individual skills were both stellar. Jayme’s powerful voice soared on soulful songs such as ‘God Will Take Care of You’ and ‘Oh, Had I a Golden Thread’.
The crowd enjoyed the jazz-infused soloing of the musicians which was included in several of the selections. Not only was the evening a musical treat, it was also spiritually uplifting as we were reminded that God is with us in every circumstance, through well-loved classics such as ‘His Eye is on the Sparrow’.
In addition, worship leader Joan van der Linde from Morris, MB led in a time of corporate worship through song as voices were lifted in praise together.
She challenged us to remember our identities as God’s children, and shared a video clip of Nick Vijicic, a motivations speaker who was born without limbs.
It was a powerful reminder to re-evaluate where we have placed our trust and value.
Jayme closed the evening with more songs from her album, ‘To Keep You From Falling’, as well as giving us a sneak peek from her new album which is set to release in the Spring.
