Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Council of the Municipality of Swan Valley West held in the Council Chambers at 216 Main Street West, Swan River, Manitoba, this 14th day of August, 2018 at 7:05 p.m.

RESOLVED that the Council for the Municipality of Swan Valley West does hereby approve the Application for Licence to Construct Water Control Works on SW ¼ of 29-34-29W owned by Swan Valley Co-Op;
AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Public Works Foreman shall be authorized to obtain any necessary approval from local landowners and sign said application on behalf of the Municipality.

WHEREAS Schullman Investments Inc. have made application for a subdivision of 6.41 acres on the SE ¼ of 9-38-27W;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Municipality of Swan Valley West does hereby approve the application to subdivide the existing farm yardsite from the quarter section.

WHEREAS “The Accessibility for Manitoban’s Act” is now in effect in Manitoba, and a Customer Service Standard Workshop is being held in Swan River on August 30th;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that staff members be authorized to attend the Workshop.

RESOLVED that the Rural & Urban Animal Control Officers Reports for the month of July 2018 shall be received, and that payment for said services hall be approved as submitted.

WHEREAS an Offer to Purchase has been accepted and signed for property on Part of the SE ¼ of 28-36-29W;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Municipality of Swan Valley West sell the above property for the amount of $147,500.00, less realtor and legal fees.

RESOLVED that the Manitoba Municipal Administrators Association Membership for Deidre Bilyk in the amount of $245.00, and the Commissioner of Oaths application in the amount of $50.00, be approved for payment.

WHEREAS, if the conditions of the attached letter of compliance have not been met by August 18th, 2018;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we accept the recommendations of our Weed Inspector and/or a crop specialist to take whatever action is necessary to bring the property into compliance.

RESOLVED that the Council for the Municipality of Swan Valley West does hereby approve the request for payment of overtime hours, as per the employees request dated August 10, 2018.

WHEREAS the Province has requested feedback from the public and local governments on changes to the Provincial boundaries for the next Provincial Election;
AND WHEREAS the Municipality of Swan Valley West has issues with the change of boundaries;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we oppose such proposed boundary changes.

RESOLVED that compensation be paid to Shirley Bateman for completing the 2018 Financial Plan.

WHEREAS the Province of Manitoba has not kept noxious weed growth in their right-of-way’s under control;
AND WHEREAS the lack of control is causing these noxious weeds to spread onto private land and Municipal right-of-way’s;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we urge the Province of Manitoba to take corrective measures to control said noxious weed growth.
