Submitted by: Mintonas 4-H Beef Club | On Saturday April 28, 2018, 55 4-H members and parents spent the day learning about the beef industry at Anderson Cattle Co.

The day began with roundtable discussions on carcass quality, food safety, forage and soil options, alternative beef production, financial literacy, 4-H Beef series books, Lakeland College opportunities, agvocacy, and showing, judging and grooming beef animals.

Presenters came from Winnipeg, Dauphin, Brandon, Roblin and across the Valley. After lunch members and parents received some hands on training on preparing animals for show. Members were invited to bring their 4-H projects and the day finished with them learning to clip their animals.

Members were given invitations and catalogs to distribute to prospective buyers and sponsors. The club achievement will be held at the 63rd annual Swan Valley 4-H Beef Show and Sale at the Swan Valley Ag Grounds on May 26,2018. Everyone is welcome to come out.
