Farmer’s Appreciation Gala Auction Raises $17,680

Submitted by: Austen Anderson | The Swan River Valley Ag Society hosted the Farmer’s Appreciation Gala on the evening of Friday the 13, 2018 to great success. Close to 150 guests met at the Swan Valley Historical Museum to enjoy a fantastic roast beef meal catered by Why Not Johnny’s followed by a entertaining live auction featuring the talents of auctioneer Randy Hart and his quick witted ring man Sean Baskier.

The Auction featured many big ticket farming products such as seed, herbicide, fungicide and farming services. Along side these items were some incredible items donated by local entrepreneurs and a miniature electric tractor. At the end of the day the live auction raised $17,680.00 to help look after the fair grounds. Pattison Ag and its suppliers made the very generous donation to cover the cost of the meal and so 100% of the ticket price will also go towards looking after the fair grounds. Shawn Eggie was the winner of the 50/50 jackpot and donated his $502 winning pot back to the Society as well.
