UPDATED: Group Discusses Multi-Use, Year Round Trails

Submitted by: Patti Henkelman | A meeting was held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Town of Swan River Committee Room for anyone interested in the future of trails in the area for skiing, biking, walking, snow shoeing etc.

Approximately 25 people attended the meeting. An update was provided on the current situation for cross country skiing at the Interpretive Centre, Golf Course and Museum. Good news is that ski trails will be set at both the Interpretive Centre and Museum for this year.

Discussions took place about the things to consider going forward such as equipment, liability, signage requirements, financial, etc. There was a lot of interest in having trails available for year round multi use. The decision was made to start a Committee/Club who will look at all these items going forward.

Another meeting will be scheduled soon to take place in the Town of Swan River Committee Room. Anyone interested in the future of the trails is welcome to attend. Please call Patti Henkelman at the Town Office for more info at 204-734-3847.

UPDATE: The next meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the Town of Swan River Committee Room.
