Road to Ski Hill Dedicated in Honour of John Cotton

ValleyBiz Story | On December 9, 2017 the Municipality of Swan Valley West (SVW) held a ceremony at the Thunderhill Ski Club turn off to dedicate a Commemorative Road Sign in honour of the many contributions made by Mr. John Cotton, long time member and founder of the Thunderhill Ski Club and Thunderhill Ski Facility.

“We are pleased that so many of you have come out today to help dedicate this road to a man who stood out above many others.” said SVW Reeve Bill Galloway.

Brian Cotton spoke on behalf of the family, thanking the Municipality and all those involved for their efforts. He commented that they felt the name, “John Cotton Drive” was more fitting than Lane or Way, stating, “I think it was his drive that kept the place going.”
