CBF Students Lend a Hand for Their Furry Friends

Submitted by: Sherry Martin |Mrs. Basso’s Grade 7 & 8 students from the CBF School spent an afternoon volunteering at the Swan Valley Animal Protection League shelter raking up the fall leaves for shelter manager Lisa Scales.

The students worked hard cleaning up the leaves and were rewarded with a tour of the shelter. They were happy to spend some time meeting the dogs and cats and the animals certainly loved the extra attention!

Shelter manager Lisa Scales thanked the students for their help. She said it would have taken her days on her own to do what the students accomplished in an afternoon.

The same students volunteered to help with our banquet this past September, and came to the hall to set up tables and chairs. Mrs. Basso feels it is important for the kids to get out and volunteer in the community and SVAPL sure appreciates their help!
