The RCMP brought their A-game and took a total of 68 shots on Tiger’s goalie Jarret Gingras, scoring 16 goals. Tiger Fire had to work hard to get the puck up the court but popped in 11 goals on 31 shots fired throughout the game.

Tiger Fire Coach June Mosiondz said that it was an awesome game and that everyone played their hearts out! She was also happy to see the RCMP officers come out to play the Tiger Fire. Assistant Coach Shane Unrah noted, “Tiger Fire played up to their level and kept an overall score.” Assistant Coach Dustin Schultz would like to thank the RCMP officers for coming out to play and feels that a rubber match is in order as Tiger Fire took the first game in January and the Swan River RCMP won this round.

Cst. Jordan Carroll with the Swan River RCMP was impressed with the level of play and said, “We know what to do now – we’re not playing individually – we’re playing like a team.” Cst. Cole Plaetinck added “that was a good battle and we look forward to a rubber match sometime soon!

It has been a pleasure to get to know all of the players on the Tiger Fire Team and realize just how talented they all are. They are doing the Valley area very proud! Hopefully, they bring home the Championship from the Winter Games!

Another big Thank You to the Swan River RCMP and to Gary Wowchuk for reffing. We also had a great fan base that was loud and proud.

The Swan Valley Tiger Fire Floor Hockey Team and Dauphin/Winnipegosis Riding Mountain Rebels Floor Hockey Team will be representing the Parkland Region in the 2017 Special Olympic Kinsmen Winter Games on February 25th in Winnipeg. Good luck to both teams!

Among the fans were Tiger Fire family members Maxine Sauder and Lena Stephen – who at 90 years young enjoys watching her grandson Jeremy Stephen play on the Tiger Fire Team.
