The Valley Axemen got off to a roaring start in their first season in the North Central Hockey League this weekend.

Squaring off against the Foxwarren Falcons, the Axemen trailed early but led by the Riddell boys stormed back to a 5-3 win.

It was a physical game Friday night with a crowd upwards of 300 people and a 50/50 draw that was $522!

In their second game in as many nights the Axemen inserted fresh legs in Joel Mateika to the lineup and rode his performance to a convincing 9-1 victory over a short staffed Russell Rams team.

The Axemen get back into action on Friday night (Nov 11) when they welcome a top ranked team Miniota-Elkhorn C-Hawks back to Minitonas and District Arena at 8:30.

7 home games remain on the schedule – season tickets will still be available at the door!

Ticket prices at the door are:
Adults – $6
Seniors – $5
Children 10 and under FREE!!

The Axemen are very appreciative of the support for their first weekend back on the ice!
