The Swan Valley Ducks Unlimited Committee held their 35th Annual Banquet and Auction this past Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the War Veterans Community Hall.

The gathering of 160 people were welcomed into the hall by being served lovely appetizers as they viewed the numerous offerings in the raffles and auctions. Guests were given a map of the hall to show them where the different raffles and auctions took place. This was well received as many of the attendees had never been to a DU event before.

A delicious meal was catered to by Y Not Johnny’s. The tables were decorated with edible centerpieces consisting of cupcakes that had been created by Brenda Deneer of Brenda’s Cupcakes and Things. As well, all of the guests received a commemorative coffee mug celebrating the 35th Annual Banquet.

After the supper, volunteer awards were handed out to Rhonda Mills and Rod Pidskalny (10 years).

Also Erv Parachoniak received a 30 year volunteer award. Here he is seen receiving his award from Patty Gattinger, Swan Valley DU chair, and Isobel Basso, Provincial DU Council.

Following this, the Live Auction was kicked off by Randy Hart auctioning off two camo onesies that were modeled by local committee members.

Many of the guests went home happy with their auction purchases and even more excited were the guests who went home with fabulous raffles winnings – some of which included a Ladies Diamond Ring, an all inclusive Ice Fishing Package and a Winnipeg Jets game, hotel and restaurant package.
