The weather was beautiful for the baseball and football clinics and approximately 30 athletes came to improve their skills.

They participated in both on field and off field sessions which focused on developing them as total athletes, physically, mentally and spiritually. The clinic was wrapped up with a banquet at the War Veterans Community Hall.

The keynote speaker for the evening was Canadian Sports Hall of Famer Michael “Pinball” Clemons. Michael chose to roam the room while speaking instead of standing on the stage.

He often spoke to guests personally with his hand on their shoulder.

His message to the athletes and the audience was to live life in the “sweet spot”. To do this he encouraged the listeners to follow three rules; don’t feel sorry for yourself, don’t complain and don’t give up. He also reminded everyone that each one of us is created as a unique individual with limitless potential. His final words challenged the audience to lift up and encourage each other and to cheer each other on.

Pinball spent the rest of the evening visiting with the audience, signing autographs and taking photos with anyone who wanted.
