The weather was beautiful and excitement levels were high for the Friends of the Swan River Valley’s 2nd Annual “Fun”draiser Bonanza at the Swan River Golf & Country Club on Saturday, June 18th, 2016.

Excitement levels were so high that nurses “Donna” and “Alice” were on standby and available to give the golfers examinations to make sure they were healthy enough to participate in the day’s events.

They even had an X-ray booth set up to make sure no potential health problems were missed during their examinations.

Once the golfers passed their physicals they were ready to head over to the Ferris Law Pancake Breakfast and get registered.

190 golfers were entered and not only had opportunities to win some large prizes from the “Hole In One” sponsors but also try some of the fun games like the Bull-A-Rama cowpie toss, water bottle tee off, and oven mitt golfing to win prizes as well.

The fun didn’t stop with the end of the golfing though. A well attended savoury steak supper with all the trimmings and dessert was enjoyed with live music.

After supper came the excitement of seeing who got the many donated live and silent auctions items and won the 50/50 draws. Then JARD Music and DJ Services provided the entertainment for the dance.

This year half of the proceeds from “Fun”draiser Bonanza will be going towards the purchase by the Bowsman Lions Club of heart monitor equipment for the Swan Valley Health Centre and half for Golf Course improvements. The Friends of the Swan River Valley would like to thank our many sponsors, supporters, and everyone else who was involved for making this event a huge success and hope to see you again next year.
