The Dolyna Ukrainian Dancers performed to a packed house for the annual year-end Dessert Concert on April 30, 2016.

The entertainment was top notch and included dances from various regions such as Poltava, Hutzul, Bukovanian, Transcarpatian and Polissia.

The Swan River Adult Dolyna Dancers were our guest performers. Guests were treated to a variety of delicious desserts during intermission. Thank you to Doug Chapman and his crew for the amazing desserts that were prepared.

After intermission, dancers completed the second half of the program and finished off with the anticipated “Hopak”.

This year we have 4 senior dancers who will be graduating – Alexis Denischuk, Courtney Kovachik, Brenna Yaschyshyn and Daria Yablonski.

All four graduates presented the welcome bread in the opening dance – Pryvit, with Annie and Elmer Zaretsky accepting as Hospydar and Hospydyna.

A huge thank you to our instructors, Joe Synk and Kelsa Unruh for doing such a wonderful job with our dancers and for all of your patience. Our dancers put in a lot of hard work throughout the year with weekly practices and extra weekend workshops.

All of the hard work from the dancers and instructors showed by the enthusiastic performance at the concert. Thank you to all of our dance families for the continued support throughout the year. The evening program was wrapped up with the dancer’s favorite – the Kolomeyka! See you next year!
