Sally Yunick Receives Volunteer Award

Sally Yunick was the recent recipient of a Community Futures Parkland Volunteer Award in recognition of her volunteering spirit within the community.

The award was presented at the Benito and Area Drop In Centre on April 21, 2016 by Tom Barnett from Community Futures Parkland in Grandview.

Sally was nominated by Lovette Negrave who said Sally can always be counted on to say yes to help with the planning of community events and always make time to volunteer. Some of the functions Sally has helped with have included Heart and Stroke Tea and Bake Sale, Benito Legion Branch Cancer Tea and Bake Sale, Benito and Area Drop In, Vesselli Dancers and Fall Suppers.

The Community Futures Parkland Volunteer Recognition Initiative is set up for community members within the Parkland to nominate individuals whom they think have gone above and beyond in committing their time, skills and energy to their community. Sally received one of five awards within the Parkland Region. Each winning volunteer was awarded $300.00 to be donated to the charity or community project of their choice within the Parkland.
