Once again volunteers from the Swan River Valley have come together for a successful fundraising event on March 15 and 16, 2016.

Volunteers braved the aftermath of a few inches of snow and distributed 900 bunches of daffodils throughout the valley to homes and business.

The daffodils were beautiful and brought the recipients a little bit of spring and ultimately raised funds for a whole lot of help.

Last years campaign in the valley sold the highest per capita in the province. All of us know someone that has been affected by cancer. We all can help to fight this devastating disease.

A few of the possibilities of what can happen with the funds we raise:
– Fund Manitoba cancer patients for ground-breaking clinical trials
– Provide a bursary to encourage a Manitoba PHD student to continue their studies in the cancer field
– Provide information to support Manitoba cancer patients and their families through our Cancer Information Services
– Provide transportation support for cancer patients undergoing radiation treatment by picking them up from their home and taking them to treatments
– Match newly diagnosed cancer patients with a support person who has survived the same cancer through the Peer Support program
– Provide test tubes so our researchers can continue to search for a cure

We can make a difference.
