Jake Warkentin and Albert Quon expressed their appreciation on behalf of the food bank and indicated the supplies will be used to fill the requirements for this year’s Christmas hampers.

The food was collected during the We Scare Hunger kickoff barbecue, as well as from Minitonas Middle Years School, Ecole Swan River South School, Formo Motors and other dropoff locations.

“Last year we collected just over 800 pounds,” explained Jackie Mayuk of Formo Motors “So this year our goal was to reach 1000 pounds.” The group was thrilled when the amount of food collected weighed in at 2100 pounds.
