Town of Neepawa and the Rural Municipalities of Mountain, Dauphin, and Harrison Park are benefitting from the New Building Canada Plan’s Small Communities Fund.

The governments of Canada and Manitoba are announcing funding for four additional projects for communities in Manitoba’s Parkland region under the New Building Canada Plan’s Small Communities Fund.

The Small Communities Fund is part of the $10-billion Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component of the New Building Canada Fund. It will provide $1 billion to municipalities with fewer than 100,000 residents for priority public infrastructure projects that deliver on local needs.

The RM of Mountain will construct a water reservoir to meet Manitoba Drinking Water Safety Act Regulations and will implement a new water treatment process to meet Federal Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality.

The RM of Dauphin will expand the existing G3 Water Cooperative regional public water system. Phase 1 of this project will include the construction of approximately 99 household service connections and two pressure reducing stations in the municipality.

Using the existing waterlines, the Municipality of Harrison Park will install a pump station and reservoir in the community of Onanole, and the Town of Neepawa will install a new lift station and will connect the town’s various sewer mains.
