Town of Swan River – February 17, 2015

The Council of the Town of Swan River met on Tuesday, February 17th, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers with Mayor McKenzie presiding and Councilor’s, Jacobson, Delaurier, Friesen, Whyte, Sakal, Moriaux present.

Minutes:

1. RESOLVED that the minutes of the February 3rd, 2015 regular meeting of Council be adopted as received.

2. RESOLVED that the Agenda for the February 17th, 2015 regular meeting of Council be received.

3. RESOLVED that the Handi Van Report for January, 2015 be received.

4. RESOLVED that the Town of Swan River Council adopt the Confidentiality Policy attached as Schedule “A”.

5. RESOLVED that the March 17th, 2015 regular meeting of Council be rescheduled to March 19th, 2015.

6. RESOLVED that the Town of Swan River approve payment of the Swan Lake Watershed Conservation District Municipal levy for the 2015-2016 fiscal year in the amount of $16,951.83.

8. RESOLVED that Darren Harvey, Josh Parsons, and Ron Bauder be authorized to travel to Winnipeg, MB to demo loader-backhoes on March 4th and 5th, 2015.

19. RESOLVED that the 2015 annual membership with the Parkland Tourism Association in the amount of $1300.00 be approved for payment.

20. WHEREAS The goal of National Nutrition month is to encourage all Canadians to eat well;
AND WHEREAS Registered Dieticians are a trusted source of credible nutrition information and are launching a campaign focusing on helping consumers make healthier food choices;
AND WHEREAS Canadians are interested in healthy eating and want information to help them achieve this goal – dieticians offer nutrition resources as well as interactive tools on the Dieticians of Canada web site – www.dieticians.ca
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glen McKenzie, Mayor of the Town of Swan River in the Province of Manitoba, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the month of March 2015, NUTRITION MONTH in the Town of Swan River in the Province of Manitoba.
