Many Reasons to Participate in Terry Fox Run

ValleyBiz Story |

The Annual Terry Fox run took place on Sunday, September 24, 2014.

Locally there were over 70 participants who walked, ran, skated and biked to raise just over $7,200 for the Terry Fox Foundation.

Everyone participated for a different reason.

Some to help find a cure for the disease that took a loved one too soon, some who are still touched by Terry’s courageous journey and want to keep his dream alive and some just because they care.

The total route is approximately 6 km. At the halfway point, co-organizer Jim Webster handed out water to the participants.

The run followed the same route as previous years – starting at the Centennial Arena, continued down 9th Avenue and turned on to Ross Street.

Participants continued around the bypass and concluded back at the Centennial Arena for more refreshments.
