The Richardson Recreation & Wellness Centre / Swan Valley Credit Union Aquatic Centre Grand Opening went really well! Everyone seemed to have a great time.

The staff & committees would like to extend a huge thank you to all that supported this event!

The Turtle Race was a fundraiser idea to give back to the Community for their support of our new facility. We will continue this Turtle Race as an annual community event.

We started with this fundraiser to help Special Olympics. The winner of this race was Turtle number #213, which was James Lumax’s number! Both James and the Special Olympics Group won $527.60 each!

Shirley Todosichuk, who works for this wonderful organization quotes “The Valley Rapids Swim Club is a newer organization that could use a boost and they also enrich the lives of Manitobans through sport, which falls along the same guidelines as our Special Olympics Manitoba motto.” This is the reason this group was chosen by Special Olympics to benefit from the Turtle Race next year!

We hope our Valley makes use of the multitude of health benefits and job opportunities that is now available in this new facility. We look forward to welcoming you in the very new future and invite applications for Lifeguard positions! Thank you so much for your patronage, support, well-wishes and positive encouragement!
