Swan River RCMP Respond to Fatal Collision

On July 16, 2014, at approximately 8:30 am, Swan River RCMP responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Provincial Road 483, 12 kilometres west of Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, Manitoba (Shoal River).



It appears the minivan rolled and landed upright in the Bell River. A 24-year-old female driver and lone occupant of the vehicle from Sapotaweyak Cree Nation was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision. The deceased was ejected from the vehicle. It is not known at this time if the deceased was wearing a seatbelt.

A RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation. The name of the deceased will not be released. The investigation continues.
