Angie will be one of fifteen 5-Pin bowling athletes representing Manitoba in the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games. Angie has been working hard to improve her game and is extremely dedicated to the sport. Des and Kevin Fisher, owners of Up Your Alley have graciously volunteered their time and opened the bowling alley 2 days a week so that Angie could hone in her skills. She is ready to give it her all in Vancouver.

Joining Angie from the Valley is Team Manitoba 5-Pin Bowling Head Coach, June Mosiondz. June is extremely excited about coaching her first National Games and of all the new experiences this will encompass.

On Sunday, July 6th June will pack up Angie and head to Brandon and along the way pick up Darren Boryskavich, the second Parkland athlete on Team Toba in Russell. They will spend the night in Brandon and head out on Monday on a charter bus to Winnipeg to catch their flight to Vancouver.

At the July 1st Fireworks spectacular in Swan River it was announced that Angie and June would be going to Vancouver for the games and the residents of the Valley gave them thunderous applause to show their support and also cheered “Go Angie Go!” What a great send off for our Special Olympic Manitoba Parkland Region contingents representing Manitoba in the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games!

This is the first time the Parkland Region has been represented on Team Manitoba for 5-Pin Bowling. It is great to know the Swan Valley is behind them all the way! Good luck in Vancouver Angie and June! Go Team Toba Go! Bring home the Gold!
