On behalf of Swan Valley Communities That Care (SVCTC), I would like to invite you or your business /organization to get involved with the community by helping to host our own toy drive,

“Swan Valley CTC Toys 4 U”!

Donations to this toy drive can be made at the Brick, Westwood Inn, Chicken Chef, Pizza Place, Red Apple & Friendship Center.

The Stampeders Hockey team & Booster Club have also agreed to our collection of donated toys at the Nov. 29 & 30th and Dec. 13th games.

We would appreciate your participation and support with this initiative in the form of donation of new toys, gift certificates, or donation of money to purchase toys and wrapping paper. Please let us know by December 13, 2013, if you plan to contribute or volunteer in any other capacity.

In 2012, the Swan Valley had the good fortune to partner with the RCMP in the “RCMP Toys for the North “campaign. This is an annual RCMP toy campaign that originates out of the Toronto Santa Claus parade. Traditionally all the toys that are donated to this cause have been sent to the more northern areas of Canada ie.Yukon, North-West Territories, and northern parts of the country. Last year, Swan River was selected to receive toys for distribution to underprivileged children and youth. Over 300 toys were received in this initiative and a further 50 toys were donated by the community at a Swan Valley Stampeders hockey game.

There is great community interest in repeating this again this year as a Swan Valley initiative. SVCTC is seeking your assistance in bringing the Christmas spirit to those that need it. At SVCTC our goal is to support children and families to demonstrate their importance to the community. We feel everyone should know they are valued and heard. Because of this, we also feel it is important to have opportunities to do activities together with friends or family for the Swan Valley community.

Christmas is just around the corner. Please take some time to consider this opportunity.

Please contact SVCTC Coordinator, Beverley Polon at 734-4518 or 734-8138 to advise us of your participation in this event or if there are any questions that need clarification.
