Hope you had a chance to visit Swan Valley Community’s That Care Spooktober Fest Haunted House!

It was a great event which offered a Halloween experience for all ages.

Over 1000 visitors attended Spooktoberfest over three days. The event offered a parent and tot friendly entry area with Halloween décor and activities hosted by Better Beginning. Next visitors passed through a great Halloween walk area hosted by Aboriginal Headstart. This walk was also family and tot friendly.

If you chose a 3-5 Cat Scary Level you turned left into the back of the building. There visitors entered a haunted church scene with a cemetery in that back. Visitors had to be careful for many creatures that may have been lurking. Continuing on visitors had to pass through a maze hosted by the Stampeder’s Booster Club. After leaving the back section, visitors re-joined Spooktoberfest. They were then able to pass through various scenes and characters hosted by Michif Child and Family Services.

For those who chose one last scare before leaving, the High School drama club entertained and scared them with a skit and scene from a Haunted Hospital. Lastly all visitors were treated to hot chocolate, an ice cream cone and of course a Halloween treat. The event was a smashing success.

Businesses and Organizations as well as community members were very generous with their support and feedback. We look forward to hosting this activity again next year.
