A fundraiser was held on October 12th to raise money to help pay the fees for the adoption of a special needs boy from Eastern Europe.

The Janzen sisters entertained us with fiddle music throughout the day and raised over $30 that way, which they then donated.

The event was very successful with 63 bowls of chili sold and $1379 raised in sales and donations.

There were 16 businesses represented and each business donated an item or basket for the raffle. An abundance of baking was donated by community members and the bake sale table did very well. One of the vendors also had her own raffle going at her table and donated all the money from ticket sales to the adoption.

Corinna Wood is the adoptive mother and all the proceeds from her tables when to the adoption. She is very grateful for all the help and support she has received from the Swan Valley community and she can’t wait to introduce her little boy to you once he is home.
