The East Favel River Bridge has been reopened to public.

The Minitonas Town Council would like to thank the residents, local business owners, and general public for their patience during the last 3 1/2 weeks since vandals set fire to the Favel River Bridge on 2nd Avenue in the Town of Minitonas. It was necessary to close the structure to public traffic until such time as a structural engineer was able to properly inspect the bridge and guarantee that it could be reopened without risk to public safety.

As a result of an inspection on October 8, 2013 the council has received official notice that the bridge over the East Favel River can be safely reopened for traffic immediately. There will be a need for minor repairs to the structure and the pedestrian walkway which may, at times, require closure of all or a portion of the roadway.

Please use caution when crossing the bridge especially while the guardrails are being repaired, and when the Public Works Employees are working on site.
