Swan River RCMP Investigate Vehicle Roll Over

RCMP Media Release |

On April 9, 2013 at about 8:30 pm the Swan River RCMP, Swan River Fire Department, and Parkland EMS responded to a motor vehicle rollover on the outskirts of Swan River, Manitoba.

A call came in via a 911 dispatch of a single vehicle roll over on the ‘Garbage Dump Road’. A vehicle was located in the ditch upside down just north of the train tracks on the ‘Garbage Dump Road’.

The 18 year old male driver (resident of Swan River), along with three passengers (also of Swan River) were transported to hospital. The male driver was treated for an injured arm (unknown if broken at the time of this writing). The three passengers were treated & released.

It appears that as the vehicle passed over the rail tracks, the vehicle hit a patch of loose gravel, with the driver losing control, and the vehicle ending upside down in the ditch.

Neither excessive speed, nor alcohol appear to be a factor.

Charge(s) are not presently being contemplated.

Investigation continues.
