Town of Minitonas Minutes – November 7, 2012


Regular Meeting of the members of Council of the Town of Minitonas, held in the Council Chambers, Minitonas, Manitoba this 7th day of November, 2012 A.D. at 7:00 p.m.

Councillors: Robb, Bartel, Caruk & Windsor

1. W. Robb – S. Windsor
RESOLVED THAT the Agenda be adopted as presented.
Carried.

2. J. Caruk – D. Bartel
RESOLVED THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held on October 3rd, 2012 and October 17th, 2012 shall be adopted as circulated.
Carried.

3. S. Windsor – W. Robb
WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council has received quotes for the purchase of paving stones as provided for under the 2012 ‘Sidewalk Budget’;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to make a purchase of sidewalk paving stones as attached hereto.

4. D. Bartel – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to purchase a ¼ page ad in the Royal Canadian Legion – Military Service Recognition Book, and shall utilize the same format as used in previous years;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the cost of said ad will be shared equally between the Town & RM of Minitonas.

5. W. Robb – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT the Public Works Report for the month of October shall be accepted as submitted by the Town Foreman, a copy of which is attached hereto.
Carried.

6. J. Caruk – D. Bartel
WHEREAS the Public Works Employee Overtime Reports have been received & reviewed by Council;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT all applicable hours recorded for the month of October, 2012 shall be paid out with the November 15, 2012 payroll or booked for future use as indicated on the aforementioned reports, copies of which have been attached hereto.

7. S. Windsor – W. Robb
WHEREAS all properties with taxes owing for any portion of the year 2010 or prior, along with the associated tax sale costs have been paid in full, and;
WHEREAS Taxervice has submitted a report indicating that the 2012 tax sale auction has therefore been cancelled;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby accept the aforementioned report, a copy of which is attached hereto.

8. W. Robb – J. Caruk
WHEREAS all appeals to the 2013 Assessment has been satisfied and there are none outstanding;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Revision scheduled for November 7th, 2012 is hereby cancelled and a letter of notification shall be sent to the Municipal Assessor with regards to the aforesaid cancellation;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the 2013 Assessment Roll for the Town of Minitonas shall be adopted as presented.

9. W. Robb – S. Windsor
RESOLVED THAT we do now adjourn at 11:10 pm to meet again for the next regular meeting of Council to be held on the 21st day of November, 2012 A.D. at 7:00 pm.
