Swan River RCMP Investigate Attempted Murder

On November 3, 2012 just after 7:30 p.m., Swan River RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to a complaint of an injured male in a residence on Shoal River Cree Nation.

On arrival, police located a 36-year-old Shoal River Cree Nation resident with serious injuries caused by an edged weapon. The victim was in stable condition when transported to hospital for treatment.

A 30-year-old man, Rudy Theodore KEMATCH, of Shoal River Cree Nation, was arrested and has been charged with Attempted Murder. He remains in custody.

No further information is available. Police continue to investigate.
