Village Of Benito Minutes – October 23, 2012

A Regular Meeting of Council of the Village of Benito was called to order at 7:00 pm on Tuesday October 23, 2012 in the Village Council Chambers. Present – Mayor Meadows, Deputy Mayor Scouten; Councilor Offenberger; Councilor Zebinski; Councilor Schneider
Chief Administrative Officer – Pat Ellingson

Mayor Meadows called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

RESOLVED that the minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held on October 9, 2012 be adopted as presented.
Carried.

2.
SCOUTEN
ZEBINSKI
RESOLVED that the agenda for the Regular meeting held on October 23, 2012 be adopted as amended.
Carried.

3.
ZEBINSKI
SCOUTEN
WHEREAS there have been appeals to the 2013 preliminary rolls for the 2012 Board of Revision; and
WHEREAS the respective appeals have been withdrawn or as in accordance with Sec 15.1 of the Municipal Assessment Act an agreement can be entered into in respect of a property and is therefore regarded as having been withdrawn;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 2013 Board of Revision scheduled for Tuesday October 23, 2012 be hereby cancelled and that the Municipal Assessor be notified of the aforesaid cancellation; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2013 Assessment Rolls be adopted as presented.

BE IT RESOLVED that the October Maintenance report be accepted as presented by the Maintenance Supervisor.

RESOLVED that the Financial Statement to the month ending September 30, 2012 be accepted as presented.
Carried.

ZEBINSKI
RESOLVED that the Village of Benito appoint four members of the Benito Fire Department as peace officers for the Village of Benito as attached hereto as Schedule “A” for the purpose of enforcing By-law #05/10 between the hours of nine o’clock on the evening of October 31st, A.S. 2012 and six o’clock in the morning of November 1st, A.D. 2012.

RESOLVED that the October Animal Control Report be accepted as presented by the Animal Control Officer.
Carried.

8.
ZEBINSKI
SCHNEIDER
RESOLVED that the Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to write a letter to the Public Utilities Board requesting approval for a deficit in the Village of Benito Utility Operating Fund for the year 2011 in the amount totaling $40,806.00;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the aforesaid deficit be recovered in the 2013 budget year.

RESOLVED that the Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to write a letter to Intergovernmental Affairs requesting approval for a deficit in the Village of Benito General Operating Fund for the Year 2011 in the amount totaling $27,895.00
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the aforesaid deficit be recovered in the 2013 budget year.

RESOLVED that the Village of Benito authorize payment of invoices as attached hereto.
Carried.

WHEREAS the Employee overtime reports have been received and reviewed by Council;
BE IT RESOLVED that the September overtime reports be approved for payment as presented.
Carried.

RESOLVED that we do adjourn the meeting at 10:25pm.
