Town Of Swan River Minutes – October 16, 2012

The Council of the Town of Swan River met on Tuesday, October 16th, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers with Mayor McKenzie presiding and Councillors Bobick, Jacobson, Friesen, Whyte and Sakal present. Councillor Delaurier was absent.

Minutes:

1. RESOLVED that the minutes of the October 2nd, 2012 regular meeting of Council be adopted as received.

2 RESOLVED that the Agenda for the October 16th, 2012 regular meeting of Council be received.

3 RESOLVED that the tender received from Kayway Industries for traffic salt in the amount of $5,002.20 be hereby approved.

4. RESOLVED that Duane Whyte be authorized to attend the Medical Services Committee meeting in Minitonas, MB on October 24th, 2012.

5. RESOLVED that Duane Whyte and Glen McKenzie be authorized to attend the Medical Services Committee meeting on October 22nd, 2012 in Dauphin, MB.

6. RESOLVED that the Aquatic Operations and Services Support Proposal for the Recreation & Wellness Centre submitted by Dean Yaremchuk be hereby approved;

AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that Mayor McKenzie be authorized to sign this proposal.

7. RESOLVED that the September, 2012 R.C.M.P. Reports be received.

8. RESOLVED that the accounts as follows be hereby approved for payment:

(1) General Accounts from Cheque No. 12148 to No. 12229 for a total of $248,340.84.
(2) Payroll Account from Cheque No. 2940 to No. 2948 for a total of $73,798.85.

9. RESOLVED that the Mayor and CAO be authorized to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the Town of Swan River and the Rural Municipality of Swan River regarding annexation.

10. RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Works and Building Inspection Reports be received.

11. RESOLVED that, pursuant to Section 152(3) of The Municipal Act, Council go into Committee and close the meeting to the public.
