Swan Valley resident Richard “Dick” Walker was recently awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

The medal was presented August 30, 2012 in Swan River by Dauphin-Swan River-Marquette MP Robert Sopuck.

The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal honours significant contributions and achievements by Canadians. To be eligible for this honour, a person must have made a significant contribution to a particular province, territory, region or community within Canada.
