A joint event between the Bowsman Legion and the Bowsman United Church was held on Wednesday August 22, 2012.

The doors opened at 4:30 p.m. and the people, ready to dive into the spaghetti, came rushing in.

Each person paid $7.50 for spaghetti, garlic bread and dessert. The cooking was done by the ladies of the Bowsman United Church. All the funds raised were then donated to the Bowsman Legion (just over a $1,000.00). Everyone had a great time, eating and talking to friends.

Our Cooks: Varneece Eggie, Brittany Filuk and Debbie Pierrepont.
Missing is Lana Edmunds.

The placemats had a list of the items that were donated for the Time & Talent Auction. Each item had a number and the items were displayed across the front of the stage. People took their time to give everything a once over and then made their list of what they would bid on.

At 6:00 p.m. the Time and Talent Auction started. People of the United Church donated either an item or their time to be auctioned off. Darin McKay from McKay Auctions was the auctioneer for the evening, who also donated his time.

With 64 items up for grabs, Darin kept the auction moving at a fast pace and with a lot of humor. Many people got the item they wanted and of course some did not. But they were more than willing to try again for another item.

The Time and Talent Auction is one of the main fundraisers for the Bowsman United Church and once again the people of Bowsman and surrounding area made it a great auction. All together the auction brought in $2,000.00.

Items that could not be at the auction were represented by certificate, such as: one hour plane rides, computer training or repair, oil and service, etc.

All in all it was a great success and a big thank you goes out to Darin McKay, The Bowsman Legion, and The Bowsman United Church members who so generously donated items. A special thank you to those who came out and once again support us.
