Swan River RCMP – Careless Use of Firearms

On July 14, 2012 at about 12:10 p.m., the Swan River RCMP were dispatched to a call of shots fired near a residence in Dawson Bay, Manitoba.

A 57 year old male was reportedly intoxicated, uttering threats, and firing a rifle indiscriminately in a residential area.

Police attended, and after a short period of time, the suspect came out of his residence and surrendered to police without incident.

Gerald Alfred MUNROE of Dawson Bay, Manitoba has been criminally charged with possession of a firearm dangerous to the public peace, careless use of a firearm. and two counts of Uttering Threats to cause Death.

MUNROE was remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin Provincial Court on July 16, 2012.
