Town of Swan River Minutes – July 5, 2012

The Council of the Town of Swan River met on Thursday, July 5th, 2012 for a Special Meeting in the Town Council Chambers with Mayor McKenzie presiding and Councillors Bobick, Jacobson, Friesen, Whyte, Sakal, and Delaurier present.

Public Hearing:
Variation Hearing No. 4/2012 was called to order by Mayor McKenzie who advised that the purpose of the hearing was to hear representation for or against the following application:

Application by 6182403 Manitoba Ltd, Swan River, Manitoba to vary the Commercial Central Zone “CC” side corner yard requirement from 20 feet to 15 feet and the front yard requirement from 20 feet to 18 feet to allow the construction of a six unit condominium development on Lots 11 and 12, Block 18, Plan 286 and located at 126 7th Avenue North in Swan River, Manitoba.

There being no persons present who wished to speak regarding this matter the hearing was adjourned.

Minutes:

1. RESOLVED that the Agenda for the July 5th, 2012 Special Meeting of Council be received.

2. RESOLVED that Variation Application No. 4/2012 by 6182403 Manitoba Ltd. to vary the Commercial Central Zone “CC” corner side yard requirement from 20 feet to 15 feet and the front yard requirement from 20 feet to 18 feet on Lots 11 and 12, Block 18, Plan No. 286 DLTO and located at 126 7th Avenue North be hereby approved.

3. WHEREAS the Province of Manitoba has discontinued the Community Loans Program and has requested repayment of all outstanding loans sponsored through said program, and;
WHEREAS the Town of Swan River was a member of the Swan Valley Enterprise Centre Community Development Corporation and as such, have a direct interest in the repayment of said loan;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Town of Swan River Council does hereby support the reinstatement of the “Swan Valley Enterprise Centre Community Development Corporation” for the purpose of repaying the outstanding loan in the amount of $20,000 to the Province of Manitoba

4. RESOLVED that, pursuant to Section 152(3) of The Municipal Act, Council go into Committee and close the meeting to the public
