Regular Meeting of the members of Council of the Town of Minitonas, held in the Council Chambers, Minitonas, Manitoba this 6th day of June, 2012 A.D. at 7:00 p.m.

RESOLVED THAT the Agenda be adopted as presented.
Carried.

2.
W. Robb – S. Windsor
RESOLVED THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held on May 2nd, 2012 and May 16th, 2012 shall be adopted as circulated.
Carried.

3.
W. Robb – J. Caruk
RESOLVED THAT the members of the Minitonas Town Council do hereby go ‘In Camera’ in accordance with Subsection 152 (3)(b)(ii) of The Municipal Act regarding Agenda Item No. 12.1 pertaining to a complaint received.
Carried.

4.
J. Caruk – D. Bartel
RESOLVED THAT the meeting of the Minitonas Town Council shall hereby re- open to the public.
Carried.

5.
D. Bartel – S. Windsor
RESOLVED THAT the attached expenditures shall be approved regarding the 2012 Summer Games Project.
Carried.

6.

RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas Town Council agrees to accept an invitation to meet together with other ‘G-7’ Swan Valley Municipalities to form a joint committee and further discuss possible options to tax sharing of future commercial development;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Town of Minitonas Council Representatives who sit on the Swan Valley Economic Development Committee (Swan Valley RISE) shall sit on this new ‘Tax Sharing Committee’.

WHEREAS the attached invoice was received and reviewed by council;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to make payment of the municipality’s 50% share of said invoice in January, 2013 and include that the cost in the 2013 Utility Budget for the Town of Minitonas;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Water System Assessment Report be accepted as submitted by Manitoba Water Services Board, and the CAO shall be authorized to sign said report on behalf of the municipality.

RESOLVED THAT the Public Works Report for the month of May shall be accepted as submitted by the Town Foreman, a copy of which is attached hereto.
Carried.

9.
W. Robb – D. Bartel
RESOLVED THAT the rental of the Town of Minitonas Equipment shall be authorized by council as attached hereto.
Carried.

10.
J. Caruk – W. Robb
WHEREAS the Public Works Employee Overtime Reports have been received & reviewed by Council;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT all applicable overtime hours recorded for the month of May, 2012 shall be paid out with the June 15, 2012 payroll or booked for future use as indicated on the aforementioned reports, copies of which have been attached hereto.

WHEREAS the Town of Minitonas is hosting ‘Beach Volleyball Competitions’ during the Manitoba Summer Games;
RESOLVED THAT we do hereby declare the week of July 3rd to 6th, 2012 as ‘Community Clean-Up Week’ and shall offer the use of the Town Public Works Trucks & Drivers free of charge to haul debris & trimmings in order to ‘beautify the community’ for visitors.

12.

RESOLVED THAT we do hereby approve the attached request for vacation & paid medical leave.
Carried.

13.
J. Caruk – W. Robb
WHEREAS the Minitonas Town Council wishes to promote development in the community;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we do hereby agree to provide a 50% rebate on the total cost of installation of new Water & Sewer Hookups, including both the $30 ‘Per Foot Fee’ and the $1000 ‘Connection Fee’.

14.
W. Robb – S. Windsor
WHEREAS the Province of Manitoba – Manitoba Infrastructure & Transportation has requested an application for renewal and update of their accounts receivable records;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the CAO shall be authorized to edit, sign & submit said application renewal on behalf of the Town of Minitonas, a copy of which is attached hereto.

15.
D. Bartel – S. Windsor
WHEREAS the Province of Manitoba has discontinued the Community Loans Program and requested repayment of all outstanding loans sponsored through the program, and;
WHEREAS the Town of Minitonas was a member of the Swan Valley Enterprise Centre Community Development Corporation and as such, have a direct interest in the repayment of said loan;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minitonas T\own Council does hereby support the reinstatement of the ‘Swan Valley Enterprise Centre Community Development Corporation’ for the purpose of repaying the outstanding loan in the amount of $20,000.00 to the Province of Manitoba.

RESOLVED THAT we do now adjourn at 10:55 pm to meet again for the next regular meeting of Council to be held on the 20th day of June, 2012 AD at 7:00 pm.
