Village of Benito Minutes – May 10, 2012


A Special Meeting of Council of the Village of Benito was called to order at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 10, 2012 in the Village Council Chambers.



Present – Mayor Meadows; Deputy Mayor Scouten; Councilor Schneider; Councilor Zebinski; Councilor Offenberger
Chief Administrative Officer – Pat Ellingson

Mayor Meadows called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

OFFENBERGER
RESOLVED that the agenda for the special meeting held on May 10, 2012 be adopted as presented.
Carried.

2.
ZEBINSKI
SCOUTEN
RESOLVED that By-law #02/12, being a By-law of the Village of Benito to authorize the levy of taxes for the Year 2012 be read a second time.
Carried.

3.
SCHNEIDER
SCOUTEN
RESOLVED that By-law # 02/12, being a By-law of the Village of Benito to authorize the levy of taxes for the Year 2012 be read a third time and passed this 10th day of May 2012 A.D., signed by the Mayor and signed and sealed by the Chief Administrative Officer.

ZEBINSKI
SCHNEIDER
WHEREAS Section 162 Subsection (1) of the Municipal Act requires each municipality to adopt a financial plan for each year in a form approved by the Minister and consisting of;
a) An operating budget;
b) A capital budget;
c) An estimate of operating revenue and expenditures for the following fiscal year; and
d) A five year capital expenditure program;
AND WHEREAS the Village of Benito has made such a financial plan;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the financial plan for the Village of Benito for the Year 2012 as set out in a form approved by the Minister be hereby adopted;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said adopted financial plan shall be incorporated in and form part of the 2012 tax levy By-law.

ZEBINSKI
OFFENBERGER
WHEREAS the Village of Benito is the registered owner of the property known as Part of Block 6, Plan 787 located at 57 First Street E. and the Village wishes to demolish the unsightly structures situated on said property; and
WHEREAS there are vehicles/machinery situated on the property which do not belong to the Village, a letter is to be delivered by the By-Law Enforcement Officer of the Village, to the owner of these items as notification of the intentions of the Village and be given until midnight of May 15, 2012 to remove said items; and
BE IT RESOLVED that any vehicles, equipment or other items remaining on said property after this time will be removed by the Village and any associated costs will be invoiced to the owner of same.
