Missing Dominican Tourist Located Near Thunderhill

RCMP Media Release | The Kamsack RCMP and Swan River RCMP have located Santos NUNEZ. NUNEZ is being detained on warrants issued by the Canada Border Service Agency. NUNEZ was located in a field on the Saskatchewan Manitoba Border just south of Thunderhill which is located just northwest of Benito, Manitoba. NUNEZ will be medically assessed and treated for dehydration prior to being turned over to the Canada Border Service Agency.

The Kamsack RCMP would like to thank both the public and media’s assistance in this matter.

Investigation into missing Dominican tourist Santos NUNEZ has revealed information relevant to his disappearance on Sunday, September 11th. Mr. NUNEZ arrived in Canada on a visitor visa two days previous from the Dominican Republic. During the second day of his visit he jumped from a moving vehicle and willingly left his party and ran into the bush after complaining of stomach pains near the community of Arran. A search both ground and aerial of that area resulted in no further sightings of NUNEZ.

According to family, NUNEZ has no known medical ailments and may have complained of stomach pains in an effort to leave the party he was with. NUNEZ did have a significant amount of cash when he left the party he was with. Further investigation has also revealed that NUNEZ may be heading to the United States as he made references to his party on traveling to Montana.
